Lakes of Trentino: discover the tourist area

What are the main lakes of Trentino-Alto Adige?

When it comes to the lakes of Trentino-Alto Adige, the first to mention is surely Lake Garda, the largest among the Italian lakes and a very popular destination for Italian and foreign tourists. Although it only touches a small part of Trentino-Alto Adige, at least compared to Lombardy and Veneto, Lake Garda offers enchanting sceneries as in the case of Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole, both located in the province of Trento. You can find lakeside bungalows in these areas, as well as on the beautiful Lake Caldonazzo, Lake Levico, Lake Ledro, Lake Idro and Lake Molveno. Among the other lakes, the Lake of Resia with the characteristic bell tower immersed in the water, the Lake of Toblino with an unmistakably romantic atmosphere and the Lake Rosso, which, as the name indicates, saw its waters coloured by the presence of an alga in the past.
