Lake Garda is part of the large group of lakes in northern Italy, along with other famous basins such as: Lake Como, Lake Iseo and Lake Varese in Lombardy, Lake Maggiore between Lombardy and Piedmont, the Lakes of Fusina in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in addition to the Lakes of Trentino Alto Adige. Often suitable for bathing, ideal for water sports and characterized by enchanting landscapes at the foot of the Alps, the Lakes of Trentino are a real attraction for tourists: the Lake of Caldonazzo, Lake of Levico, Lake of Braies, Lake of Resia with the famous bell tower emerging from the waters, Lake Carezza and Lake Fedaia are some of the most spectacular examples. Moving southwards, there are numerous campsites with bungalows on Lake Trasimeno, the main lake of Umbria and the centre of Italy, as well as the Lake of Scanno in Abruzzo and the Lake of Bolsena in Lazio, which are also very touristic. The lakes of Lesina and Varano are located in Puglia, between Tavoliere and Gargano.
